Our clinic is equipped with new state of the art hematology and biochemistry machines. With the hematology machine we can analyze the red and white blood cells, and platelet function, with the biochemistry machine we can analyze the internal organ function of your pet, all while in clinic and usually with in 15-20 minutes. These machines are useful in aiding the veterinarian in a diagnosis and outlining the appropriate treatment plan for your pet. We use the biochemistry and hematology machines to test certain health parameters before putting your animal under general aesthesia or before giving certain long-term medications.

A hemotology profile may be preformed in cases of illness or to closely monitor pets on certain medications. When your pet enters its golden years, it becomes more important to do a blood test periodically in order to detect organ failure and for early intervention.

Types of analysis

• Hematology: white blood cell count, red blood cells, platelets, etc.
• Biochemistry: pre-anesthetic and complete health assessment (up to 16 parameters)

Urinalysis and fecal analysis are also carried out on site. Other more advanced analysis such as biopsies, cytology, cultures and blood tests analysis are sent to specialized laboratories. The results of these external tests will be communicated to the vet and you will receive a call from your vet.
